Um den Unternehmenserfolg langfristig zu sichern, ist es daher notwendig, sich den veränderten Markt- und Wettbewerbsbedingungen anzupassen. In vielen Situationen haben Unternehmen hierbei wirtschaftliche Entscheidungen zu treffen, die im Zwiespalt stehen zu den moralischen Anforderungen der Gesellschaft. Speziell die Spekulationen mit Agrarrohstoffen werden derzeit stark diskutiert, da die Gewinnmaximierung der Einhaltung der Menschenrechte, insbesondere dem Recht auf angemessene Ernährung, gegenübersteht. So wird auch dem Vorstand der Deutschen financial institution vorgeworfen „Geschäfte mit dem starvation“ zu machen und somit gegen das Menschenrecht auf angemessene Ernährung zu verstoßen. Denn dem Grunde nach steht quantitativ genug Nahrung zur Verfügung. Jedoch sind verschiedene wirtschaftliche, politische und soziale Faktoren verantwortlich für die mangelnde Versorgung.

Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, den Konflikt der Gewinnmaximierung in shape der Agrarroh-stoffspekulation und dem Menschenrecht auf angemessene Ernährung darzustellen sowie anhand des ordnungsethischen Ansatzes Homanns zu interpretieren sowie zu diskutieren.

Im Anschluss an die Einleitung setzt sich die Arbeit mit den begrifflichen Abgrenzungen der Spekulation und dem Recht auf angemessene Ernährung auseinander. Anschließend wird auf den ethischen Konflikt und das daraus resultierende moralische hassle eingegangen. Im dritten Kapitel wird der theoretische Ansatz der ökonomischen Ethik von Karl Homann dargestellt und im anschließenden Kapitel auf den zuvor geschilderten Konflikt übertragen und mit empirischen Ergebnissen verglichen. Daraufhin erfolgt eine kritische Auseinandersetzung mit dem ethischen Ansatzes Homanns. Abschließend werden im Kapitel fünf die wesentlichen Erkenntnisse dieser Arbeit zusammengefasst.
